What’s Your Special Sauce?

With 8 billion people in the world and the economic world evolving over the last 50 years, there are hardly any new brand products being invented these days...

The thing that gives me hope though, is that 10% of those 8 Billion people are going to LOVE YOUR VIBE!

We all think we are unique but there are a few personality archetypes in the world that have common values and common interests.

In business, this matters because we are moving to a more and more values-based economy. We have to show the market that 'we get them' and that our product is the best fit. When we are passionate about who we are and rock out and live our values then it sends a message to the market and they will make a buying decision easily.

1) LET GO OF THE NEED TO PLEASE EVERYONE…

I know this is huge for some people who have been conditioned to be ‘likable’ to everyone but the truth is you don’t need their money. Raving fans will not come from people are just there to ‘get a product’. They go away unsatisfied and will complain or say nothing which doesn’t help anyone.

2) GET TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT..

What experience do you want your customers to have? What is important to you? The values of integrity, honesty and respect may seem like upstanding values to have but what do they even tell you about the person? These values should be a given! Just be a good human. So instead try having values around quirk and fun that allow empowered humans to embrace all of themselves….

3) MAKE SURE THE WHOLE COMPANY KNOWS, LIVES AND TALKS ABOUT THE VALUES…

There is nothing more pointless than a document that gets created and then is never to be seen again. You need to be shouting out what you stand for. Bring it up in team meetings, create some art work with your values on it… Use it in your feedback conversations with your team. How did you live the values this week? or What Values did you live during this project? What evidence do you have?
